Significant sighting

5 May 2018

Thanks Cath - first CNM record of this species north of the Lake - would appreciate any further records

User's notes

Ants smell of coconut when crushed. Their tunnel of debris goes almost as high as the fork seen near the top of image 5 in an apparently healthy Eucalyptus polyanthemos. Large sheets of bark have peeled off near the base, possibly as a result of a prescribed burn in 2016, and many ants were under these.
