User's notes

Found the butterfly circling around the Bamboo, was quite active and hard to photograph. Eventually it settled on a branch and started to lay eggs. Was very settled and was not spooked as I photographed the event. The butterfly laid approximately 50 yellow eggs on the underside of the branch and then disappeared from the area. The period of laying the eggs was exactly 1 hour.

Great set of images. Very interesting choice of foodplant, as far as I'm aware they only use native mistletoes and native cherry (and quandongs/sandalwoods outside of the ACT). Is it possible for you to keep an eye on the progress of these eggs and report back?

Thanks Suzi, Yes, I will be keeping an eye on the eggs, have marked the branch and they are clearly visible. Do you happen to know an approx. time frame as the the development?
