Author's notes

I presume this young animal is a Falllow Deer. I see Red Deer fawns can have some white spots, but this animal has the white spots coalesced into a lateral line, curving up towards the base of the tail, as illustrated for this species in The Mammals of Australia (Strahan). Dead on the Snowy River way between Jindabyne and Dalgety.
