It might be Comesperma retusum. I cannot tell from the photo whether the leaves are flat or with the edges curved down. Were the backs of the leaves pale and with an obvious midvein?

This looks like ericinum on general form to me. I can't see the map for some reason, but the question I'd be asking is was it in a high altitude wet area (typical retusum habitat), or heathy forest on poor soils (typical ericinum habitat).

In dry forest on poor stony soils. Nothing remotely like the habitat of C. retusum. Leaves margins are recurved with recurved apex.
