Hi KL, can you tell me if you saw a bird sitting on this nest. Cannot be confirmed just because there was a particular species nearby. Chris

Hi Chris, no I didn't see the bird on the nest. I thought it was worth recording the nest as I have not seen any raptor nests on my side of Red Hill (Hughes) before.

The problem is that it may or may not be a raptor nest. Chris

Chris, sorry I just assumed it was. What do you think it could be? regards kim

Not sure but Magpie, Raven spp, Little Eagle, Whistling Kite all come to mind. Chris

Chris - the width of the nest was close to a meter. I found a bone underneath it (I thought it was a rabbit bone). regards kim

Chris I have had reports of people being swooped by Brown Goshawks at this location and Roy McDougall told me he saw a Goshawk nest at this location

Hi everyone, there is a Brown Goshawk nest nearby but it is very well concealed in a Mistletoe. This particular nest is very conspicuous and was used by Ravens (not sure what type) to successfully raise a juvenile a few months ago. Kind regards, Roy.
