Plant has an aniseed/fennel odour, however the flowers are pinkish in colour.

I’m at a loss with this one. Possibly consider a recent escape from horticulture. Need open flower for ID, as Don & Betty Wood have suggested.

Our woodland of 8 hectares has been devastated by the drought, frost and wind. So far the plant has not regrown - I keep herbarium specimens.
