I presume it was planted or offspring thereof. Completely wrong habitat, which should be rainforest margins and regrowth, and moist areas near streams.

Another failure of geolocation on my phone. It was actually in Mugga Mugga Nature Reserve, which is still 'wrong habitat'. There are several individuals and groups of Acacia melanoxylon in Mugga Mugga and Isaacs Ridge, none of which has been planted. What wattles should be there?

I have fixed the location and noticed that one of the nearby sightings is Acacia boormanii which I don't think is a local wattle.

Boormanii in NSW occurs naturally in the southern parts of the Snowy Mtns and in the tablelands east of there, south of Cooma.
