photographed on the Mount Aggie walking trail. I had a little trouble pin pointing it exactly on the map.

This is only the second sighting of this species on CNM. The other one was last week at Kosciuszko National Park! It differs from the common one is havinfg white hairs on the stamens, not purple.

Hi Betty, I'm going up there again next week so I'll break out the macro lens and try and get some better photos. A good number up there along the track and easy to find.

The current photos are great anyway. Try to get a photo of a leaf and the whole plant. The green colour of the leaf (not bluish and waxy) is the other diagnostic.

Will do :-) No problems with poaching out there? There's a sign at Bulls Head reminding people not to interfere with the foliage, so I'm hoping it's unlikely. Glad I photographed it. I was really after butterflies, but this pretty jumped out as one I couldn't remember seeing before so I popped it in as a after thought. Maybe because it's been such a wet year it's coming out

I have had to do a rethink about this and have just put the problem to the experts. This comes out as Arthropodium sp. SE Highlands with Plantnet and Arthropodium milleflorum with Vicflora. Your plant is the same as all the other sightings in the ACT.

Still very pretty so I'm happy.

On advice from Dave Albrecht of the Australian National Herbarium that anther colour is the defining character, and hair colour on the stamens is very variable.

Thanks Betty, I'll shove a macro lens in my kit if I head out again, and get close-ups and the whole plant, if any thing interesting pops out at me.
