signifera and parinsignifera can sometimes be difficult to tell apart from their dorsal patterns. If the frog can be handled, a belly shot would be a big help when in doubt.

My memory of the sighting is that it was during Frogwatch training in 2011 and Anke Maria was there and the ID at that moment was parinsignifera.

C. parinsignifera only ever has the lyrate back pattern and a granular grey belly. C. signifera can be lyrate, smooth or marked as in this example and has a black and white marbled belly pattern. Hence the advantage of being able to see the belly as well. These two species can trip anyone up, including me, but unless you can add any further information this animal is classic signifera.
