Looks like a couple of Caladenia, two C. ?actensis and an unknown Caladenia leaf

The hairy leaves with red tinge suggest C. actensis; it would be a previously unknown population. Peter, please keep watching.

Yes please keep an eye on this as I am also thinking that we should nominate Caladenia atrovespa as a nationally threatened species and it would also be an additional location of this species.

I wonder whether to place wire mesh guards to protect from grazing. I could provide the guards.

Can I suggest that any cages or the like used to protect the orchids from grazing only be left in place while the plants are in active growth.

Because grazing is a natural phenomenon, without it the orchids get crowded out by other vegetation. I have noticed it in the large permanently fenced off areas on Mt Majura and Mt Ainslie which appear to have fewer orchids, whereas outside the fenced areas they are still to be found.

Okay Tony. In regard to the fenced Canberra Spider orchids sites I suggested to CPR for several years to either burn (autumn) or cut and remove biomass or allow intermittent grazing.

Okay. Peter and i placed wire mesh guards temporally, We found many Adders tongue ferns in that area as well.
