Sorry about the blurry photo, this majestic bird was very far away and very high in the sky.
It may not look like it in the photo, but it had a very wide wing span. Due to its large size I was thinking it looked like some kind of eagle.

Yep, you are correct, it is a Wedge-tailed Eagle, readily identifiable by the diamond shaped tail (which this bird is missing half of). They are the largest raptor in Australia with a wingspan of up to 2.5m
