User's notes
Two adult plantings and two seedlings by one of the adults. Common Canberra street tree, probably used in restoration plantings on the Pinnnacle. Although a weed in the ACT context, this species is considered vulnerable in the wild.

Eucalyptus nicholli is very similar in appearance to Black Gum - Eucalyptus aggregata (a threatened local species), but has very thin leaves 5mm.

Michael - many thanks for tidying this up - I puzzled about the species earlier in the week as the leaves and short stalks on fruit would have been curious for E. aggregata. Pryor and Banks "Trees and Shrubs in Canberra" notes that E. nicholii is extensively planted along streets in adjacent suburbs Hawker and Weetangera, so the 2 large trees might have been added as saplings to the Reserve right at the outset? Plantnet shows that this is a threatened species that grows in the NSW Northern Tablelands - guess we can view this as contributing to species conservation, and quietly forget that technically they are 'exotic'.
