I haven't come across Gallacea scleroderma but a description of it includes the words "surface tomentose to scaly", with no mention of the smooth, viscid surface that your specimen appears to have. I have, just once and at Tidbinbilla, collected an elongated purple fungus that looks much like yours. A visiting mycologist named it as Protoglossum (but without going to species). I've just checked my field notes and see that I'd included the word "viscid!!" - the double exclamation indicating that the surface was very sticky. That explains why I am assuming that your fungus is a Protoglossum, but this is still just a guess based on strong circumstantial evidence rather than a definitely proven identification.
