Have a look at: http://canberranaturemap.org/Community/Map?Location=22 There is a small square area beside Hindmarsh Dr which is not part of Mt Mugga Mugga Reserve. The Symonston map is created by Google Maps for places such as this which are not Defined Locations. Also have a look at a Gregory's map of Canberra. Symonston is a very large area.
guys there was / is a problem with location naming for instance Canberra Spider orchid registered on Majura, ACT shifted into Symonston. Aaron explained to me that this is somehow a problem with Google (I don't understand the details). He solved somehow the problem for Majura, ACT: all spider orchids and other plant registered after 9 Sept that appeared as being in Symonston were actually in Majura, ACT (plus several plants registered before 9 Sept) When I checked the Symonston account I had the impression that several registrations were actually in Mugga Mugga and Callum Brae NR.
Yes Waltraud. The boundaries are given to us from government sources and a quite precise, and are not necessarily next to the road. As I said above, there is a small square area beside Hindmarsh Dr which is not part of Mt Mugga Mugga Reserve. Have a close look at http://canberranaturemap.org/Community/Map?Location=22 Zoom in on Hindmarsh Dr and you will see.
Thanks for the info Michael I looked up the map with Mugga Mugga boundaries and yes it seems that there a bits west of Mugga lane not included in the reserve - I wasn't aware of this.
