Author's notes

2 Shinglebacks about 15-20cm long. They were close together amongst large logs placed in the reserve east of The Fair to improve habitat (firewood collection in the past resulted in a total depletion of fallen logs and timber in that area). I assume they were just recently born. Unfortunately one youngster escaped out of view under a log; the other was quite relaxed until I gently placed my finger on it's back to provide a size reference - it hissed and showed is tongue.
