Aaron,
when we photograph a bird in flight (or even on a tree) & they are quite some distance away (or in this case over reserve boundaries), should we edit to show the approximate location beneath the bird or just stick with camera coordinates of your location

Hi Ryu, You raise a really good point. Bottom line is that if you are able to edit the sighting to increase the accuracy to as close as possible to where the bird actually was, then yes I agree that's good practice. But if it's difficult to estimate and/or you miss it, it's also fine because really the shot kind of self-documents the distance from the photographer as well and we accept that birds move around etc. Cheers Aaron.

It depends a bit on the power of your telephoto lens.

I have 60x zoom on mine and this one is cropped too (but I don't think full zoom to start with). I do have another one of 12 great cormorants in flight from the same morning which was really far away as in several paddocks but I was on a higher vantage point so I got a zoomed up photo
