I had a good, hard look at this guy. Based on the features of the column, I determined it to be T. alpina. It also happened to be near the summit.

T. arenaria might be a possibility, but that's a bit of a guess without seeing it for myself.

I had a good hard look at it, and I felt most comfortable with T. alpina. Having said that, you could be correct. If it helps, the weather was overcast and the soil was gravelly.

I think you might be correct about this one being T. arenaria, Tony. the images don't show the little teeth on the top of the column, nor did I notice them today.
