Large leaves and nuts. Not a local eucalyptus.

Large green leaves to 30cm, nuts 2cm diameter. Planted mature trees and saplings.

Mike the saplings may not have been planted as this eucalyptus is weedy at quite a few places in the Act, including Stirling Ridge, Red Hill and Oakey Ridge

I didn't mean that the saplings were planted. I think they are the 'weeds' and indicate the blue gum will escape into Mugga Mugga. Also, this area is slated to become nature reserve in 20-25 years so perhaps thee trees should be replaced with locals.

Hi Waltraud, I got very worried with all your emails saying "Not Symonston" but there is a simple explanation for most of them. The map for Mugga Mugga Nature Reserve omits some boundary portions and the old Mugga quarry; these then default to Symonston. Parts of Isaacs Ridge default to Jerrabomberra ACT. It is a known problem.

I became suspicious when Symonston came up with a number of Canberra Spider orchid registrations which were registered at Majura, ACT. I checked the Symonston registrations and found that the majority of registrations were actually Majura ACT, several Mugga Mugga NR and some Callum Brae NR.
See for instance is this Solanum cinereum http://canberranaturemap.org/Community/Sightings/Details/32798 east of Mugga lane pretends to be in Symonston. Problem is that you won't note a registration in Mugga Mugga NR which is not by you and which lands in Symonston.
The boundary / naming of location for Majura ACT is now okay, however CNM still states that Canberra Spider orchids occur in Symonston which is not correct since there is no registration for this area.
