Author's notes

Spotted it successfully scampering across the road just past Rendezvous Creek bridge. I'd guess snout to vent length roughly somewhere between 30-50cm.

That is a great record. There are very few records of rosenberg's monitors from within the ACT - any records from Namadgi are a big help as this population is better protected than those nearer the urban areas. This record may be the southern-most record of the species in Namadgi. About a decade ago there was a dead one on the road two km north of your site (photographed by Sean Doody).
