$10,000 Contribution to CNM from ANPS Canberra Region

 17 May 2018

Dear CNM Community,

I have the privilege of letting you know that I have just accepted a $10,000 donation to Canberra Nature Map from the Australian Native Plants Society (ANPS) Canberra Region.

This is a phenomenal contribution from ANPS Canberra who have been passionate supporters of Canberra Nature Map since the very early days. This is also reflected by the fact that we have quite a lot of CNM users who are also ANPS members - there are a lot of common beliefs and values between both groups.

ANPS have expressed their extremely strong support of the Canberra Nature Map project, to ensure we keep going and keep on doing the amazing work that we are doing as a community. I am truly grateful for that support, the feeling is pretty amazing when you are just doing something that you care about and then a group like this come along and make you feel like they have your back.

I would like to express a special thanks to Geoff Butler for essentially coordinating and initiating this gesture.

As a result of this donation:

  • I am going to re-invest the funds back into the further improvement of the platform by re-introducing a revised version of the much loved "Radar Tool" as soon as we complete the delivery of the new ACT Frogwatch NatureMapr platform. Perhaps an appropriate name for the new tool is the "ANPS Radar Tool"! More to come...

Thank you so much ANPS Canberra from the CNM community!

Cheers

The CNM Team.

This is really good news. Big thanks to the ANPS for recognising the value of CNM and investing in its future.

Aaron and team - yes it is good news and I fully support the idea to badge the revised tool as ANPS Radar - a fine acknowledgement of support
